‘UNSTOPPABLE,’ A VIRTUAL BOOK TALK WITH AUTHOR JOSHUA M. GREENE
February 10, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm PST

Holocaust Museum LA presents a virtual book talk with author Joshua M. Greene about his acclaimed book, “Unstoppable,” Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at 4 p.m. A winner of the 2021 Best Holocaust Book Award from Best of Los Angeles, “Unstoppable” has been hailed as “gripping” and “a vivid, moving portrait.”
Greene’s book is the true story of Polish-born Siggi B. Wilzig. At age 16, he and his family were deported to Auschwitz. He used his wits to stay alive, pretending to have trade skills the Nazis could exploit to run the camp. After two death marches and near starvation, he was liberated from and went to work for the U.S. Army hunting Nazis, a service that earned him a visa to America. On arrival, he made three vows: to never go hungry again, to support the Jewish people and to speak out against injustice. His first jobs in America were shoveling snow and working in toxic sweatshops; and from these humble beginnings, he became president, chairman and CEO of Wilshire Oil Company of Texas and subsequently Trust Company of New Jersey.
Joshua Greene is a celebrated author and filmmaker. In addition to “Unstoppable,” his books include “Justice at Dachau” and “Witness” as well as “Here Comes the Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison.” He has produced the documentaries, “Hitlers Courts: Betrayal of the Rule of Law in Nazi Germany,” “Witness: Voices From the Holocaust” and “Lawrence Langer: A Life in Testimony.”
